the rhythm of the rain that drops and coincides with the beating of my heart

For the past three nights, I’ve been falling asleep to the sound of rain.  It’s more calming than my sleep playlist.  My mind, of course, went through its course of running through senseless thoughts, sometimes with surges of creativity in which I would forget the next morning. Yesterday night, I thought about my junior year coming to a close.  To put this semester in one word…it was tiring.  Six major classes while being a part-time retail rat really took its toll…or maybe I’m a bear. Regardless, I found myself at comfort because if I were to give you a lucid image, I was leaning on God’s shoulder in the midst of this ongoing exhaustion.

Him = 힘

Scenario
I decided to dive for the ball on a sand court out of instinct and my knee hit the outer wooden frame…the pain was at the bare minimum though! Moving on…

Injuries really remind me of how much I love sports…the first few thoughts when the chunk of skin fell off my knee were
wow what a buzzkill, I just ended the game
- I wanted to go jogging later…
- will I be okay to play for Memorial?

and then a first world pain crossed my mind
- I have to wake up earlier to walk to classes omg

but…

christmas morn

I finally bought an iMac today thanks to my wonderful fam & friends for covering more than half as a bday present, knowing that my laptop suddenly decided to leave me hanging :’) Oh and…I finally found Philippines dried mangoes today after craving and searching for almost a year now.

Reasons Why You Should Care:

I still can’t get over how in-my-face the monitor is…it’s beautiful.

…I mean I had to.

Day before yesterday’s dinner. Made myself a flower! Tres delicieux.

Jude 1:24-25

24  Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

all things good

I had the pleasure of seeing The Nehemiah Band & Alex Hwang from Monsters Calling Home live tonight! They have no shame in voicing their love for Christ. Albany really feels like barren land most of the time, me being city-oriented and all…so my Saturday turned into something really special. If my life had a refresh button, I definitely pressed it today (had a really l o   n   g week, ya’ll). God always works in strange ways.

I genuinely love meeting people. This is a regurgitating thought but God’s touch really makes each person so intricately different…there’s so much to love.

Anyway, if you have a few minutes to spare throughout the day, check out their site & youtube channel!

John, Gilbert, & Kevin from TNB — Mike & Daniel went missing at the time!

TNB, if you’re reading this by any chance, thank you so much for the laughs and the west coast warmth :) You guys are all blessings, the definition of raw passion. I hope I can visit LA sometime soon to see you guys again!

& Alex,
Thanks for the deluxe cd :) I love how lyrically creative and indie-esque you are. God gave you a voice of gold. Looking forward to seeing MCH in full!

It’s really scary how bittersweet college years are.  Up until last month, you have no idea how badly I wanted to graduate early (a small part of me still wants to).  But after much thought, I decided that I should graduate on time and make the most of the days that I get to lay in bed doing absolutely nothing productive while listening to music endlessly…

If there’s one thing I really, really dislike…it’s people who flake. I planned my birthday a month in advance and my home friends told me they would come, but they all cancelled last minute. Little did I know…
